Hex Washer Head Self Drilling Sheet Metal Tek Screw with Drill Point-Sheet Metal Self Tapping Screw Description

  1. Performance & Material Properties
    • High-Strength Alloy & Carbon Steel: Forged from quenched-and-tempered C1045 or 4140 alloy steel for tensile strengths of 700–900 MPa and hardness of 38–45 HRC, providing exceptional shear and pull-out resistance.
    • Integrated Self-Drilling Tip: Precision ground “TEK-style” flute drills through 0.5–1.5 mm mild steel or aluminum without pilot holes, evacuating chips cleanly and minimizing heat buildup.
    • Hex Washer Head & Drive Reliability: 6 mm (⅜″) hex washer head with knurled bearing face distributes clamp load evenly and resists loosening; compatible with ¼″ hex-bit sockets and standard nut drivers.
    • Protective Coatings: Available in trivalent zinc (8–12 µm) for ≥240 h salt-spray corrosion resistance, black-phosphate for basic rust protection and low reflectivity, or yellow-chromate passivation for enhanced weathering.
  2. Detailed Application Range
    • Sheet-Metal & Panel Fastening: Ideal for HVAC ductwork, metal roofing/siding, electrical enclosures, appliance housings, and architectural façades.
    • Light-Gauge Structural Framing: Secures stud tracks, steel purlins, cable trays, and support channels in commercial and residential construction.
    • Automotive & Transportation Assembly: Mounts brackets, wiring harness clips, and interior trim in RVs, trailers, and off-road vehicles where vibration resistance is critical.
    • Equipment & Machinery: Fastens guards, access panels, conveyor rails, and signage in industrial automation, packaging lines, and material-handling systems.
  3. Effortless Installation & Adjustment
    • One-Step Installation: Self-drilling point eliminates pre-drilling, reducing labor time by up to 50% and ensuring precise, repeatable entry.
    • High-Torque Compatibility: Hex washer head engages nut drivers or impact-rated sockets for slip-free driving up to 15 Nm, reducing cam-out and tool fatigue.
    • Controlled Seating & Clean Removal: Washer head seats flush or slightly proud with a built-in shoulder to prevent over-driving; screws back out cleanly for rework without enlarging the hole.
  4. Superior Quality & Long-Term Reliability
    • Standards & Certification: Manufactured under ISO 9001 in compliance with ANSI B18.6.2 and DIN 7504 P tolerances (±0.1 mm diameter, ±0.2 mm length) for global interchangeability.
    • Rigorous Testing: Each batch undergoes drive-torque testing, head-pull-off evaluation, and ≥240 h neutral-salt spray per ASTM B117 to verify corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity.
    • Full Traceability & Environmental Compliance: Lot-traceable material certifications from melt to finished part; RoHS- and REACH-compliant, free of hexavalent chromium and other restricted substances.
